Padharo Mhare Desh

Welcome to our land

Four days in a desert town of painted palaces

We are getting married in Mandawa — a small town in Rajasthan's Shekhawati region famous for its havelis, mansions whose walls are covered inside and out with hand-painted frescoes, hemmed in by golden desert.

To everyone flying in from far away: thank you. Crossing oceans for us is the most generous gift, and we've planned these days so that they feel like a holiday as much as a wedding — with airport transfers, rooms at the venue and a guide to everything that happens, so nothing feels unfamiliar.

Come dance with us.

The Celebrations

Nine ceremonies across four days. Every guest is welcome at every event — here's what each one means.

  1. Guest Arrival & Check-In

    Wednesday 2 December · 2:00 PM

Settle into the haveli, meet the families over chai and snacks, and let the celebrations begin gently.

  2. Ganesh Pujaगणेश पूजा

    Thursday 3 December · 9:00 AM

The first ritual of any Hindu wedding — a prayer to Lord Ganesha, remover of obstacles, to bless the days ahead.

  3. Haldi & Mehndi Ceremonyहल्दी व मेहंदी

    Thursday 3 December · 12:30 PM

Turmeric paste is lovingly applied to the couple for a radiant glow, while intricate henna is drawn on the bride and guests.

  4. Sangeet (Cocktail Night)संगीत

    Thursday 3 December · 6:00 PM

Music, dance performances by both families, cocktails and dinner — the most joyful, loudest night of the week.

  5. Bhaat Ceremonyभात

    Friday 4 December · 9:00 AM

A Rajasthani tradition where the couple's maternal family arrives bearing gifts, sweets and blessings.

  6. Baarat (Groom's Procession)बारात

    Friday 4 December · 5:00 PM

Manish arrives in procession with drums, brass band and dancing in the street — everyone is invited to join in.

  7. Jaymala (Exchange of Garlands)जयमाला

    Friday 4 December · 7:00 PM

The couple meet on stage and exchange flower garlands, accepting one another before all their guests.

  8. Mangal Pheras (Wedding Ceremony)मंगल फेरे

    Friday 4 December · 11:30 PM

The sacred heart of the wedding: seven circles around the holy fire, each a vow for their life together. Auspicious timings mean a late night — chai will be served.

  9. Vidai (Bride's Farewell)विदाई

    Saturday 5 December · 10:00 AM

A tender, tearful goodbye as Amisha leaves with her new family. Expect flower petals, rice and many hugs.

Cocktail or festive attire — sequins, silks, sharp suits. Dress to dance; the floor will be busy until late.
